Health Information Technology Degree
Gain the respect of your peers.
This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the health care industry as Health Information Technologist in a physician’s office, clinics, group practice or hospital settings. A Health Information Technologist is defined as an unlicensed person who provides administrative duties related to health care records. Trained individuals perform delegated administrative duties within the scope of practice of the supervising physician or department supervisor. This program teaches basic anatomy and physiology concepts, medical terminology, medical law & ethics, patient communications, insurance concepts, and health information technical skills required in the medical setting. In addition, it assists in developing professional soft skills essential in allied health professions.
The length of the Associate of Science in Health Information Technology is 12 months and consists of 1200 clock hours and 97 quarter credit hours.

Respiratory Care - Associate's of Science
The Respiratory Care program at Platt College is designed to prepare the student to work professionally as a vital member of the healthcare team. The program combines academic work, clinical rotations at area hospitals, and physician contact opportunities. This program will prepare the student for an exciting, rewarding career as a Respiratory Therapist.
Upon successful completion of the Respiratory Care program, the student will receive an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Care. The student will then be eligible for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) exams, both the entry-level exam for a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), and the advanced-level exam for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Based on the certification level achieved, the graduate will be qualified to work as an entry-level or advanced-level Respiratory Therapist.

The length of the Associate of Science in Respiratory Care is 11.5 months and consists of 1590 clock hours and 114 quarter credit hours.

Surgical Technologist Diploma Program
The Surgical Technologist program is designed to provide students with the foundation and principles in basic sciences and subjects unique to the operating room. The program is designed for students interested in becoming part of an integral team of medical practitioners that provide surgical care to patients in a variety of settings.
Consisting of lectures, labs and clinical hours, this program is accredited with The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. This accreditation allows graduates to sit for the National Certifying Exam for Surgical Technologists.
Graduates will perform entry-level duties in a variety of areas which may include hospital settings, ambulatory surgery centers, central supplies, labor and delivery areas, cardiac catheterization laboratories, physicians' offices, and other areas where invasive procedures are performed.
The length of the Surgical Technologist program is 10.25 months and consists of 1110 clock hours and 70.60 quarter credit hours.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges requires schools to round quarter credits down to the nearest half number. Therefore, 70.50 quarter credit hours are recognized by the ACCSC for the Surgical Technologist Program.

Platt College features an Associate of Science degree in Medical Assistant that can be completed within a year and a half of study.
This degree will focus on fundamental medical courses, such as anatomy and physiology, radiography, and phlebotomy, as well as clinical coursework like clinical procedures and pharmacology.

The Medical Assistant / Phlebotomy program prepares students for entry-level positions such as those available in medical clinics, phlebotomy labs, or physicians offices. The student develops critical administrative skills as well as clinical skills. The program prepares the student for entry-level positions such as Physician’s Clinical Assistant, Administrative Office Manager, Phlebotomy Technician or Laboratory Assistant.

Platt College’s Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technician prepares students to function effectively as an entry-level member of a medical laboratory team. Graduates possess skills to perform laboratory tests and related duties in accordance with standardized laboratory practices in clinical chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, clinical microbiology, immunohematology and serology/immunology with the supervision of a medical technologist.Upon completion of the program the student will have the ability to perform proficiently on laboratory testing procedures, think critically and communicate effectively. Dental Assistant
The Dental Assistant program is aimed at developing students for entry-level positions in General Dentistry Practice, Orthodontic Practice, Pediatric Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral Surgery and Periodontics. Pharmacy Technician - Diploma Program
The Pharmacy Technician program consists of lectures, lab and externship training. Students completing the course will be proficient in the aseptic compounding of I.V. admixture products, unit dosage, solution preparations, medical and pharmaceutical terminology, pharmaceutical mathematics, pharmaceutical chemistry, handling and storage, drug distribution systems, and pharmacy record keeping.
