Dallas Campus
The Dallas Campus, which opened in 2005, continues to reflect our commitment to our ultimate belief: the value of every person that walks through our door and that person’s right to a marketable education. That is a commitment of which we are very proud.
This school occupies approximately 28,000 sq. ft. in a three-story building easily accessible by both the LBJ Freeway and I-35 as well as conveniently accessible by bus service.
Texas Accreditation and Approvals
Platt Dallas is licensed by the Texas Workforce Commission. It is approved for training by the Texas Workforce in Action (WIA). Platt is also accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). ACCSC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency and is a member of the Council on Post-secondary Education. Platt is approved by the Department of Education. (financial aid and federal student loans are available to qualifying students) and the Texas Board of Nursing.Platt Dallas Admissions Requirements
Enrollment is open to men and women past the age of compulsory education. The school considers the following in evaluating applications:- Graduation from an approved high school program
- Successful completion of GED (Certificate of Equivalency)
- Applicants without a high school diploma or GED are required to take a Department of Education approved evaluation to determine ability to benefit. The test is the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test; students must achieve a Verbal score of 200 and a Quantitative score of 210 to be admitted to the school
- Determination of purpose and attitude conducive to success
- The Pharmacy Technician program requires a high school diploma or GED
Vocational Nursing Admission Requirements
In addition to the above enrollment procedure requirements, the candidate must also meet the specific requirements for the Vocational Nursing program:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must successfully pass the Vocational Nursing pre-admission exam. The exam is the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. Students must achieve a Verbal score of 300; Quantitative score of 270
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to acceptance into the program
- Must interview with director of nursing or designee
- Must provide three professional letters of reference
