With our students being the most important people on campus, the Platt College Culinary Arts program is to provide the student with a thorough understanding of the the culinary arts. Some of the areas of study include competencies in safety and sanitation, the hot kitchen, Garde Manger, baking and pastries and food management. The curriculum is driven by the needs of the food service industry and meets current accepted standards.

The Pastry Arts program will provide a broad orientation to aspiring bakers and pastry chefs. This program focuses on the basics and principles of pastry and the varieties that can be produced when the methodologies are understood.
Students are introduced to the tools and techniques required by professional bakers and pastry chefs. Studies in nutrition, sanitation, safety, management and careers in the field of pastry arts give students a full spectrum of knowledge about the culinary industry as they develop their skills as baking and pastry chefs.
Graduates of the Pastry Arts program are prepared for employment in bakeries, restaurants, catering and institutional settings.
The length of the Pastry Arts course is 9 months and consists of 1047 clock hours and 61.50 quarter credit hours.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges requires schools to round quarter credits down to the nearest half number. Therefore, 61.50 quarter credit hours is recognized by the ACCSC for the Pastry Arts Program.

The Associate of Science in Culinary Arts is an exciting, challenging and rewarding program. The program offers students broad based curriculum including theory and practical instruction through extensive activities in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Our compassionate Instructors have a strong sense of devotion to our students. We go above and beyond with our students to assure their retention and therefore, success in the culinary industry.
Platt College offers the only ACF Accredited program in Oklahoma, and the only approved Certification Evaluator in the state of Oklahoma which allows us to offer ACF Certifications to our former students and other culinarians working in the corporate world.
The length of the Associate of Science in Culinary Arts program is 12 months and consists of 1680 clock hours and 105.45 quarter credit hours.

The Bachelor of Science in Restaurant Management program is a comprehensive Bachelors Degree program offering students a broad-based restaurant education including theory and practical instruction.
Designed to provide the foundation and education for management in the food service industry, this program will also provide the student necessary curriculum which will balance administrative, organizational, and leadership skills required in Restaurant Management, Food and Beverage Management, Hotel Food and Beverage Management, Convention and Conference Services Management, and Club Management.
