Nursing - Associate's of Science Degree

The LPN to RN Nursing program is a transitional program for a Licensed Practical Nurse to complete the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing in an accelerated format. Platt College nursing program is dedicated to providing quality nursing education that develops individuals who value life-long intellectual, personal and professional growth necessary for success in the ever-changing nursing profession.

Length of program is 13 months and consists of 1165 clock hours and 88.50 quarter credit hours.

Program Prerequisites:

  • Current Oklahoma unencumbered LPN License.
  • Technical/Occupational Course 375 clock hours/ 19.50 quarter credit hours.

Nursing - Bachelor's of Science Degree

The R.N. to B.S.N. program is especially designed to meet the needs of registered nurses desiring a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. The curriculum offers the registered nurse an opportunity to reach their educational goal without unnecessary repeating of course studies or clinical experiences. It is compromised of general education requirments and a professional component. The program prepares professional nurses for rewarding careers, leadership positions, and core graduate study.

This program length is 18 months and consists of 1140 clock hours and 90.00 quarter credit hours.

PRACTICAL NURSING OVERVIEW

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in Practical Nursing.

The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the health care community. Upon successfully completing the written state licensing exam, graduates can work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a licensed physician to provide skilled nursing care to selected patients

Practical Nursing - Associate of Occupational Studies

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in Practical Nursing. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the health care community. Upon successfully completing the written state licensing exam, graduates can work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a licensed physician to provide skilled nursing care to selected patients

The length of the program is 11 months and consists of 1570 clock hours and 102.75 quarter credit hours.

Practical Nursing - Diploma

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in Practical Nursing. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the health care community. Upon successfully completing the written state licensing exam, graduates can work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a licensed physician to provide skilled nursing care to selected patients.

The length of the program is 11 months and consists of 1440 clock hours and 93.28 quarter credit hours.

The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the health care community.

Vocational Nursing

The vocational nursing program is designed to prepare students without educational background beyond high school or GED for an entry-level job as a vocational nurse. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the health care community. Upon successfully completing the written state licensing exam (NCLEX), graduates can work under the supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed physician to provide skilled nursing care to selected patients.

The length of the program is 13.5 months and consists of 1582 clock hours and 100 quarter credit hours.

Offered at the Dallas campus only.
