What would you say if we told you that you could learn how to cook like a professional chef? Held once a month, our short Secrets of the Chef cooking classes are open to the public and offer the opportunity to learn professional tips and tricks from Platt College’s experienced chefs. Bring the family along or sign up with a group of friends. Either way, you’re formally invited to join us at our culinary school at Tulsa.

February 18th / 11 am – 2 pm: Crockpot Cooking $35.00
Chef Curt Herrmann will teach the basic fundamentals of cooking to achieve wholesome lunches and dinners for you and your family as well as ways to entertain for larger group events.

March 3rd / 11 am – 2 pm: Bring on the Bread $50.00
One of our oldest forms of food is not only delicious, but also fun to make. Learn the secrets of making Quick and Artisan breads. Chef Wes Watson will guide you through this time-honored tradition.

April 7th / 6pm – 9pm: Food and Wine Pairing $50.00
Love wine and food? Want to know more? Join Chef Tim Fitzgerald for an evening of insights and education as he takes you through the basics of food and wine pairing. This class is a tasting and sensory analysis with food lecture.

April 21st / 11 am – 2 pm: Cookies and Muffins $35.00 per Parent/Child
Do you love cooking with your little ones? Join Chef Neil McCarley for an afternoon of fun and adventure as he teaches you and your child how to navigate through the kitchen while preparing some sweet favorites. It’s the perfect cooking class for the whole family.

May 12th, May 26th, June 9th / 6pm - 9pm: Romance Culture Cooking Series $125.00 for all three
Dive into the cultures of France, Spain, and Italy as three of our chefs help you prepare mouthwatering meals specific to each of these exciting cultures. This series is scheduled over three Saturdays, each dedicated to one of these cuisines. Price includes all three sessions or purchase individually for $50.00 per session per person.

May 26th / 11 am – 2 pm: Teens in the Kitchen I - Introduction $35.00
Do you have an eager young chef at home? Would you like him or her to learn the basics in the kitchen? Join Chef Jay Moore as he demonstrates the fundamentals of preparing and plating foods.

June 9th / 11 am – 2 pm: Grilling and BBQ Basics $50.00
Do you love this classic All-American food? Join Chef Kelly Crisp for an exciting cooking class detailing the art and craft of mastering the big BBQ.

July 21st / 11 am – 2 pm: Healthy snacks $35.00 per Parent/Child
Join Chef McCarley for afternoon developing healthy snacks. Help curb the kids’ never-ending appetites with homemade healthy alternatives.

August 11th / 11 am – 2 pm: Kids in the Kitchen/ Pizza Party $35.00 per Parent/Child
This one is all about the kids. Chef Fitzgerald will show you how to make pizza at home. This is a great family bonding activity that keeps them smiling.

September 15 / 11 am – 2 pm: Contemporary Game $50.00
Explore the unique cooking techniques and preparation styles for game items. Join Chef Jay Moore as he guides you through Oklahoma game cookery.

October 13th / 11 am – 2pm: Southwestern Flavors $50.00
Spice things up this fall with Chef Jay Moore. Learn the keys to creating south of the border dishes that will please your family and friends.

November 10th / 11 am – 2 pm: Spectacular Soups $50.00
Do you love soups? Join us at our culinary school in Oklahoma City where we’ll help you develop some of your own savory soup masterpieces, starting with the basics of cream and clear soups, and some family favorites.

December 8th / 11 am – 2 pm: Holiday Candies and Gifts $50.00
It’s time for the Christmas season. Chef Lia Lewis will teach you the secrets of creating classic confections that will keep your family and friends talking into the New Year.
